This coverage typically provides a lump sum plus a per day hospitalization benefit for illnesses or injuries. Optional coverage includes surgeries and diagnostic tests. The purpose of this coverage is to offset group deductibles and recover lost income. This product can cover the entire family and will pay in addition to Short Term Disability if the employee is the one hospitalized.
